What do I need to bring with me to apply for a marriage license? Nothing is required if both applicants are 22 years of age or older. Proof of age required for those 18 and through the 21st year. Males and females 16 and 17 must be accompanied by one parent or legal guardian for their signature consent. TOP Do I need to get a blood test or am I required to take any kind of class? No. TOP How much does it cost to get a marriage license? $20 for Lapeer County residents, and $30 for Out of State residents. TOP Do you take Debit or Credit Cards? No. Cash, Check, or Money Order Only. TOP How long does it take to get a marriage license in Michigan? The day of application is the first day of the 3 day waiting period. Marriage licenses may be picked up and used, on the fourth day after application, unless the fourth day is a Saturday, Sunday or holiday. TOP How long do I have to use the license? The license is valid for thirty-three days from the date of application. TOP Do both people have to come to apply for the marriage license?
