Lapeer County Information Depot

Community Corrections 

Under the Community Corrections Act (P.A. 511, 1988) the Board of Commissioners appoints a Advisory Board (LCCCAB) with the mission to design, implement, monitor,assess, and evaluate community corrections progress in Lapeer County. The objectives of the Act are to provide appropriate sentencing options for non-violent offenders, address needs of offender population, reduce recidivism, and help limit jail admissions. The project is coordinated through the Thumb Area Private Industry Council. 

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: 

Reduce the number of admissions to prison and prison commitment rates of non-violent offenders. Improve the appropriate utilization of jail facilities.
