Using the Historic Lapeer County Courthouse for Weddings

The courtroom on the second floor of the Historic Courthouse may be used for wedding ceremonies. Weddings held on weekends or after hours must be scheduled five days in advance.

To request a reservation, fill out the following form and send to the Lapeer County Building and Grounds Department, 255 Clay Street, Lapeer, Michigan. Call 667-0245 with questions.

I wish to reserve the Historic Lapeer County Courthouse 
for a wedding ceremony on:

     Date:

     Time:

I understand that:

    1. A fee of $75.00 is requested, which will be 
       donated to the Courthouse Restoration Fund to 
       continue restoration of the building.
  
    2. A deposit of $25.00 is required, which will 
       be refunded if no clean-up costs are incurred.
  
    3. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on County 
       property.
  
    4. County property must be left in the same 
       condition as found.

    5. Due to the restoration project underway, use
       of the building is limited and conditions are
       accepted as available.  For example, heating/
       air conditioning may be minimal at times, 
       restrooms and an elevator are yet to be 
       installed.
