Preserving Our Past for Our Future 

The following is a recap of the work that has been done during the past six years and does not include stabilization and exterior work completed prior to 1991.

WORK COMPLETED IN 1991-1992

New boiler, heating, ventilation with future air conditioning capability; structural repairs to tower; new foundation at tower; attic insulation; new underground electrical service; new electrical conduit for courtroom lighting; exterior lighting of porch. Cost  $228,670

WORK COMPLETED IN 1993-1994

Cleaning and selective demolitioning lower lever; reconstruct jury box; rough frame duct enclosure lower level; strip paint and wall finishes in two offices of main level. Cost $7,000

Public restrooms (handicap accessible); ramp to lower level; new water/sewer service; fire suppression main line; partial fire suppression system. Cost $134,384

**Most of the money included in private contributions has been the result of the Annual Gala held at the Courthouse by Lapeer West H. S. students to benefit the restoration project.

Exterior restoration - restoration of 1900 ca. north porch stairs, restoration of north porch, reconstruction of south stairs, historic restoration of courthouse square, land scaping and walk pavers 52,700
Other costs - architectural fees for design, construction documents, bidding and contract adminisstration; permits, bonds; construction contingency reserve 154,400
Total projection of probable cost $856,000

*The Lapeer County Historical Society has pledged $28,000. Air conditioning and humidification will be critical for the museum.
