Lapeer County Information Depot

The Board of County Road Commissioners consists of three members, elected at large for staggered 6 year terms. The Road Commission maintains their own accounting system and does not receive any county appropriation for the construction of roads. The County does appropriate 1/10 millage under statute for the Bridge Fund. The County Board of Commissioners has the responsibility to adopt a budget for the Road Commissioners. The Road Commissioners are responsible for the budget of the Road Commission operations.
