Motor Division

The Motor Division participates in many local community events including Lapeer's Memorial Day parade and 4th of July parades in Hadley ande North Branch. They also provide assistance at Imlay City's Blueberry Festival, Columbiaville's Lily Festival, the Eastern Michigan Fair, Clifford's St. Patrick's Heritage Festival, Metamora Days, Dryden Days and Lapeer Days. They assisted with activites at local Korean War Memorial Services commerating 50 years since the end of the war and provided safe escort for the Vietnam Moving Wall Memorial throughout Lapeer County.

The Reserve Motor Deputies also provide additional support to the full-time Motor and Road Patrol Deputies for variouis community and school patrol activities and funeral escorts as needed during the year.

The Motor Division is comprised of a team of part-time volunteer Reserve Motor Division Deputies and full-time Sheriff's Deputies. Reserve Motor Deputies provide their own Harley-Davidson police motorcycles, equipment and uniforms. They also contribute their personal time to participate in many police training and police motorcycle training exercises. The Motor Division completed its third full year of operation in 2003 and contributed over 1,900 volunteer man-hours to the Lapeer County community.
