County Treasurer is a statutory office with a variety of responsibilities including receipting and investing all County funds, collecting delinquent property taxes and issuing dog licenses. For the past several years, the majority of dog licenses have been renewed by mail. As a result of this, all dog licenses are now issued by Animal Control and are no longer available at the Treasurer's office. Contact Animal Control at 810-667-0236 for information.

Delinquent Taxes can be paid by mail or in person by cash, check or money order. Personal and business checks are not accepted from January 1 through February 28.

The County Treasurer's office is located on the third floor of the County Complex building, 255 Clay Street, Lapeer, MI 48446. Office hours are Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. For more information, call 810-667-0239.

PROPERTY INFORMATION

Information on Lapeer County properties is available from the Treasurer’s office. With the changes in the Mortgage industry, the Treasurer’s office has noticed a dramatic increase in the number of requests for information from Companies that do not maintain or contract with local entities to research this information. In order to maintain a high level of service to Lapeer County residents and respond to the requests from for-profit companies, the Treasurer’s office has established the following policy for providing property information. Copies of the reports mentioned in the policy are available upon request. The Treasurer thanks you for your consideration and professionalism in abiding by the policy.
