A Lapeer County Library Initiative

Project Promotion

We are targeting three audiences for our promotion of the Community Information Center Development Project: 1) Lapeer County Governmental units 2) residents of Lapeer County 2) interested parties outside the county

1) There is already a great amount of interest in the County governmental units about the World Wide Web and LapeerNet  (our community network) in particular. The demand for training and assistance by County entities has outstripped the Library's ability to provide these services. Promoting the fact that we are ready, willing and able to spearhead informational development of World Wide Web sites for selected County entities will be done in two ways:

Recruitment for participating partners will be done through InfoNet (the County monthly newsletter distributed to each department and employee)

County governmental units already expressing a desire for help will be contacted. These include Emergency Preparedness, Prosecutor's Office, County Clerk, MSU Cooperative Extension, Lapeer Development Corporation (producer of the county profile) and Department of Health.

2) Five vehicles will be developed for promotion to the residents of Lapeer County.

A multimedia road show featuring the County information and services available through LapeerNet (our community network) will be produced and shown throughout the County.

Informational brochures and fliers will be distributed throughout the County.

LapeerNet  main page will prominently point to new information being added to the web site.

News releases will be sent out throughout the region highlighting our accomplishments as we proceed through the project.

Lapeer County Library Newsletter will run feature articles on the partnership and access to County information.
