Dog Licenses
Lapeer
County now issues dog licenses year-round. All dogs age 4 months
or older must be licensed. State law was changed so that a dog license
cannot expire after the animal's rabies vaccination expires. The goal of
the County Treasurer's office and Animal Control is for a dog's license
and rabies vaccination to expire in the same month. Presently, Lapeer
County issues one year licenses. In the future, three year licenses may
be offered.
Dog
owners holding current licenses will receive renewal notices in the
mail. Licenses may be renewed in person or by mail from Animal Control.
