Creating a new page
To create a new page you can use an existing page as a template.
To do this you will need to open AOL Press.
Now open an existing web page. (you may need to download the page and save it to your computer if you don't have a page already on your computer - refer to: Downloading HTML files with AOL Press)
Once you have an existing page saved on your computer and you have it open in AOL Press you then need to select the File menu then Save As.
You will see a window like this:
In this example, the existing page is called readme.htm.
Notice that the readme portion is highlighted.
Just type the name you want to call the new page you want to create. (note: notice that the file ends in htm instead of html. It is a good idea to use html instead. This will cause less confussion later when you are trying to link your pages.)
Click OK and now you have created a new page. Of coarse, this new page looks just like the original page (readme.htm) but you have two separate pages and any changes you make to this new version will not affect the original page (readme.htm).
From here, you can follow the instructions in Modifying an existing page with AOL Press.
You will just need to delete or change the information that is in the new page.
The advantage to using an existing page is that you will have all the hidden code that was incorporated into the pages which automatically put things like the court house image and the link bar on your page.
