Look in the lower right hand corner of the screen.
You will notice that you have one or more icons shown there.
One of these icons appeared when you connected to LapeerNet.
Use the right mouse button to click on the icon.
Select the option to disconnect.
The icon will disappear and your connection to the Library server will be broken.
Be sure to do this when you are finished using the connection as it will tie up the phone line and make it possible for unaurhorized persons to use your Internet connection.
If you are using Windows95:
There are two possibilities depending on what version of Windows95 you are running.
For either case, you will see an icon in the lower right corner of the screen.
If this icon shows two computer monitors that occasionally flash back and forth then you have a more recent version of Windows95 and you can follow the directions given above for WindowsNT.
If the icon is of a black box with two red lights that occasionally flash green you have an older version of Windows95.
For this version, the bar at the bottom of the screen that starts with the Start button. Look to the right and you will notice a button for every program you have open and running right now.
One of these programs is for the modem's connection to the server.
Click on that button and the screen will appear that shows your connection information.
Click on the disconnect button and your connectoin to the server will be closed. (removing the icon from the lower right corner of the screen)
